Meet Our Staff
Dr. Steven Fuller
Dr. Fuller has been practicing general dentistry for 29 years. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Science. Next, he continued his education at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry to earn his DDS degree, Doctor of Dental Surgery. Upon graduation, Dr. Fuller moved to Des Moines, IA to work along side his father, the late Dr. Richard Fuller. Fuller Associates Family Dentistry has been open since 1963. Steven led the expansion in 2003 and opened our Altoona location.
Dr. Fuller strives to stay up to date in dental education by constantly attending continuing education classes. He is always learning about new techniques, equipment, and technology available that can better himself, his staff, and our patients experience here at Fuller Associates.
Dr. Fuller was appointment by the Governor of Iowa to the Iowa Dental Board from 2011-2017. Dr. Fuller served on the Dental Board of Iowa as Vice Chair, Dental Board of Iowa's Executive committee, Dental Assistant Registration Committee, and was the Chair of Anesthesia Credentials Committee until 2017. Dr. Fuller is a member of the Des Moines District Dental Society, Iowa Dental Association, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Fuller also is the Iowa Cubs Team Dentist. He is very active with AAU basketball. He is the Iowa Boys Basketball District Chair and a member of the National Boys Basketball Council. Dr. Fuller is also the Lt. Governor of Iowa AAU.
Life and Hobbies:
Steven is married and has four children and three grandchildren. During his free time Steven and his wife, Beth, can be found at their children's events--- dance practices or recitals, as well as basketball, football, and soccer games. Majority of his weekends he spends cheering on the Hawkeyes at Iowa football games.
Karen Edwards: RDH
After graduating from high school, Karen attended Grand View and earned her Associate of Arts degree. She continued her education at the University of Iowa earning a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She has practiced for 39 years and loves her job! She's a wife and a mother of 3 children, 2 boys and 1 girl. All three of her children graduated from the University of Iowa. Karen loves attending Iowa football games, reading, and scrapbooking.
April Brown: Receptionist
April graduated from Des Moines East High School. After graduation, she pursued her softball career at Des Moines Area Community College receiving her Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts. She continued her education at Utah State University playing softball. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Health. After finishing school, April had the opportunity to play softball professionally in Mannheim, Germany. In her free time, she enjoys traveling to new places and thrifting.
Kelsey Clark: QDA
Kelsey recently graduated from Des Moines Area Community College's dental assisting program. Her first exposure to dental assisting was when she was 12 years old visiting her aunt working as a dental assistant. Shadowing her aunt piqued her interest in dentistry. In her free time, she enjoys baking, spending time with her family, and her cat and dog.
Lisa Vander Hart: Receptionist
Lisa is an Arizona native, but has been living in Iowa for 10 years. She joined our team in September of 2018. She is married with three children: Aubrey, Evit, and Brinlee. Her free time is consumed by raising kids, kayaking, fishing, and trying new restaurants in Des Moines.
Kelsey Edwards: QDA and Marketing Coordinator
Kelsey began working at Fuller Associates in 2011 and became a Registered Dental Assistant in 2014 with radiology qualifications. Kelsey graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Human Physiology in 2017. Dentistry has brought Kelsey to different countries and across the state of Iowa while volunteering in free dental clinics. During her free time, she enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with friends and family. Kelsey is currently studying at The University of Iowa College of Dentistry to become a dentist, but will continue working during school breaks.
